Our Philosophy

At Embrace Food we believe that food is about enjoyment rather than restriction.

We understand that sometimes life can be a struggle and everyone is doing the best they can to cope during stressful times. Did you know that improving your diet can help you feel better both physically and mentally?

Our multi-disciplinary team of highly qualified practitioners will work with you to promote balance in all aspects of your life. At Embrace Food we focus on promoting health in four areas: physical, mental, social and ‘self’. This is important because even if one of the four areas is out of balance, the likelihood of developing poor eating habits and chronic disease increases.

We believe that it is not just a question of what foods to eat, but also about making sure you have the necessary skills to be in control and fully embrace life. Using mindful eating and psychology-based techniques we will ensure you have the tools to encourage positive eating behaviours that can only benefit you in the long term.

Dr Michelle Blumfield

BND (Hons) PhD APD | Accredited Practising Dietitian

Michelle has been an Accredited Practising Dietitian for almost 10 years. She specialises in the area of nutrition for women and children, especially fertility, pregnancy and early childhood. Michelle also has expertise working with people for weight management, diabetes, irritable bowel syndrome (particularly the FODMAP approach), cholesterol, food intolerance and sports nutrition.

Dr Anna Kokavec

Anna has been a registered psychologist for more than 20 years. She has extensive clinical experience providing a range of focused psychological strategies for addictive and compulsive behaviours, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, grief/loss, trauma and stress.
